Debtor Sentenced to Probation for Five Years and Home Confinement for Bankruptcy Fraud, Bank Fraud.

On July 12 in the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, Aaron Leroy Waring, Jr. was sentenced to probation for five years and three months of home confinement for his role in a bankruptcy fraud scheme in which he filed serial bankruptcy petitions in his own name or the names of his relatives for the purpose of preventing a secured creditor from repossessing his automobile.   Waring’s sentence also included his submission of a counterfeit check to a federally-insured bank drawn on the operations bank account of a chapter 13 trustee.  AUSA Eric Klumb (Charleston office) prosecuted the matter for the U.S. Attorney.
