Change of Duty Station and Place of Holding Court from Spartanburg to Greenville

Wednesday, September 29, 2021

On September 28, 2021, the Judicial Conference of the U.S. Courts approved a request to move the U.S. Bankruptcy Court facilities currently located in Spartanburg, and to change the duty station of Chief Judge Helen Elizabeth Burris, to Greenville. Although many steps remain, we anticipate a move to the C.F. Haynsworth Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse located at 300 East Washington Street in 2022. Further details will be provided when plans are approved. This move is part of a long-range space plan of the 4th Circuit courts and follows completion of the Carol A. Campbell U.S. Courthouse in Greenville and the recent move of many occupants from Haynsworth to that new facility.
