I informed the Court of Appeals several months ago of my intention to retire, hoping this would provide time to appoint my successor. Unfortunately, the low case filing numbers prompted our Circuit and the Judicial Conference of the United States to decide that many vacancies around the country, including ours, should not be filled at this time. Nevertheless, after seventeen years on the bench, I plan to move forward with my retirement at the end of May 2023.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as a United States Bankruptcy Judge and a member of our profession.
