On October 17, 2017, the United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina announced the indictment of Nathaniel Florin Noble, a/k/a Florin David Olaru, in a three-count indictment involving bankruptcy fraud, false bankruptcy declarations, and criminal contempt of court. According to the indictment, Noble filed a bankruptcy petition in 2017 (C/A No. 17-01526-hb) in which he made false representations under oath. The indictment also states that the filing of the bankruptcy case violated a previous order issued by the Northern District of Georgia Bankruptcy Court which had ordered Noble not to file bankruptcy for a five-year period. Bankruptcy Judge Beth Burris had certified the matter to the district court for consideration of criminal contempt.
