Redaction of Privacy Information

Thu, 08/21/2008 - 5:00am

Pursuant to Federal Rule of Bankruptcy Procedure 9037, certain privacy information must be redacted from filings made with the Court. It appears that many recent filings with the Court have not complied with Rule 9037, and the Court has been addressing requests and motions to correct these deficient filings more and more frequently. It is incumbent on the filer of any document to ensure that all privacy information is redacted, particularly with respect to notes, mortgages, security agreements and other attachments. As a result, the Court has added a section to the Chambers Guidelines to address redaction issues. Click here for important information from the Clerk of Court regarding proper redaction techniques.
