Operations Manager & Staff Attorney

Friday, September 29, 2023

The Judges, Clerk, and staff of the United States Bankruptcy Court wish to thank two employees for their dedicated service and wish them well on their new endeavors.

Lisa Robinson is retiring today after a career of more than 20 years with the federal judiciary.  Lisa had previous service with the United States District Court and has served as this Court’s Operations Manager for the last 10 years.  Prior to joining the Bankruptcy Court, she was the Clerk of Court for the State of South Carolina’s Grand Jury.  In addition to her duties as Operations Manager, she took on many other responsibilities and did a wonderful job planning significant court events, including the retirements of Judges Waites and Duncan and the investiture of Judge Gasparini.  Upon her retirement, she will move with her husband to Greenville.  Nicole Stalvey will serve as the Court’s new Operations Manager.

Today is also Kathryn (Katie) Waites’ last day with the Court.  Katie is a 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law.  She served as the career law clerk for the Hon. David R. Duncan after clerking for judges at bankruptcy courts in California, Kentucky, and North Carolina.  Most recently, Katie served as Staff Attorney for the Clerk’s Office and diligently assisted the Court with the transition of matters following Judge Duncan’s retirement.  Katie is joining Beal LLC in October and will practice bankruptcy law in South Carolina.

Best wishes to Lisa and Katie!
