Bankruptcy Court Divisions

The District of South Carolina encompasses the forty-six (46) counties of the State of South Carolina. In this District, there are three divisions - the Columbia Division, the Charleston Division, and the Greenville/Spartanburg Division. Upon the filing of a bankruptcy petition, the case shall be assigned to the corresponding divisional venue.

Case Assignment

Bankruptcy cases are assigned to the judges, upon filing or conversion, as follows.

The presiding judge may, from time to time, request another judge of the court to take action, conduct hearings, and make determinations in matters assigned to the presiding judge.
