The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina requires that all documents to be filed in a case be filed electronically in the Court's Case Management and Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system, with certain exceptions. See Guidelines for the Filing of Documents. There are a variety of training options available in order to become a registered CM/ECF Participant. The Clerk's Office offers demonstrations and hands-on training as well as online training.
Attorneys, Trustees, Limited Access Creditors and Limited Access Transcribers are eligible to become registered CM/ECF Participants within the requirements set forth in the Guidelines for the Filing of Documents. Pro Se individuals should refer to our "Filing Without an Attorney" section on this Court's website. For those who are eligible to become a registered CM/ECF Participant, you must complete the available registration form in full and comply with the requirements therein.
All training options are listed below in the "How to become a registered CM/ECF Participant section."
In order to file documents electronically and to receive e-mail notices of documents that are filed, attorneys must be registered and certified with this Court. Registration requires completion of the available registration form in full and compliance with the requirements therein. You may become certified in one of three ways:

Class registration is at 8:45 a.m. and class begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. Pre registration for the class is required.
Parking is available in the parking garage on the corner of Assembly and Richland streets.
CM/ECF 3.3.1 Learning Modules
The Case Management Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) Learning Modules are designed for attorneys and law firm staff and Trustee's interested in becoming familiar with the new CM/ECF version 3.3.1 interface and added features.
To install the learning modules, click on the hyperlink for the desired learning module above. When prompted, select Save from the File Download dialog box. Select a location on your computer to save the file. Click on the .exe file to view the learning module.
Other browsers, including earlier versions of Netscape and IE, are not supported.
